The Telemedia Pacific Cable Network (TPCN) is designed to serve the growing need for high-capacity connectivity among fast-growing major markets in East and Southeast Asia, including Japan, China/Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, and Vietnam.
TPCN will comprise two major elements:
- SCAN (Submarine Cable Asia Network), a wholly-owned asset of Telemedia Pacific Inc (TPI), linking Indonesia with China/Hong Kong with a planned branch to Vietnam and Singapore.
- SJC (Southeast Asia – Japan Cable System), jointly owned by TPI and other parties, linking Singapore with Japan, and branching into Hong Kong, China, Philippines, Brunei, Thailand and Indonesia.
The two systems will be linked together at Hong Kong and also via an intermediate cable connection linking Singapore and Indonesia, allowing the systems to work synergistically to a provide robust, high capacity international bandwidth access.
